Tracking a Summer-like pattern into the weekend
THURSDAY: We’re waking up to a bit of fog in some spots this morning, but that looks to clear up shortly after sunrise. We’ll start warming up underneath a mix of sun and clouds into the upper 80’s to some low 90’s. That heat index will be in the upper 90’s so build in a lot of breaks if you plan on being outside in those conditions. A few pop-up storms could move into our eastern counties this afternoon, putting a dent in that heat.
TONIGHT: Any storms that get up and going will fizzle after sunset, leaving another quiet night in place. Overnight lows fall back into the low 70’s.
EXTENDED: Just about a carbon copy into Friday. A few stray storms will be possible but otherwise hot and humid with highs near 90. That’s about where afternoon highs will stay going forward, but this weekend looks like those storm chances will be even slimmer. A weak frontal boundary will slide west and take some of the humidity and better storm chances with it. While it might not feel as oppressive as it has the last few days, still remember that water with your Independence Day festivities.
