Tracking another round of heavy rain, storms overnight

TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy with storms moving in late. Rain could be heavy at times after midnight with gusty winds. Lows in the low 70s.

TOMORROW: Storms early, tapering off by late morning. Highs near 90 with a heat index in the mid-upper 90s.

EXTENDED: The boundary responsible for thunderstorms the last two days will finally make its way south and out of the region by later on Wednesday into Thursday, ending widespread rainfall. High pressure begins to take control by the end of the week with hot temperatures holding on along with tropical humidity. Heat indices through the end of the week could flirt with 100, with air temperatures in the 90s through the weekend. Rain chances remain low outside of a few spot storms potentially each day in the heat of the afternoon. Highs stay in the low 90s into next week.
