Patrol: ‘No gun inside car’ after Sedalia deadly shooting
SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said no gun was found inside a car following a deputy-involved shooting in Sedalia on Saturday.
Troopers said 25-year-old Hannah R. Fizer was killed in the shooting. A Pettis County deputy said Fizer threatened to the deputy after she was pulled over for speeding.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A spokesman Sgt. Bill Lowe said investigators were granted a search warrant for the vehicle on Monday. Lowe said no weapon was found inside Fizer's vehicle.
The spokesman said troopers with the highway patrol Division of Drug and Crime Control are investigating the shooting. Lowe said the patrol is looking at surveillance video from nearby businesses at the time of the shooting.
Pettis County Sheriff Kevin Bond said Tuesday the deputy involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave. Bond said the deputy verbally reported that Fizer said she had a gun.
The sheriff also said the deputy was not wearing a body camera at the time of the shooting.
As of Tuesday, the sheriff's office had not released the name of the deputy involved in the shooting.
