Officer-involved shooting leaves one dead in Sedalia

SEDALIA Mo. (KMIZ)

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A officials, a woman was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting in Sedalia overnight.

Officials say the incident happened around 10 p.m. on Friday during a traffic stop near US-50 and Winchester Drive in Sedalia.

Reports say a Pettis County Sheriff's Deputy shot Hannah R. Fizer, 25, of Sedalia after she refused to identify herself, stated she was armed and verbally threatened to shoot the deputy.

Fizer was pronounced dead a short time later. The deputy was not injured.

The Pettis County Sheriff requested Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A to investigate the shooting.

Officials say next of kin have been notified.
