Tracking widespread rain and a few storms before nice weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. Lows in the mid-60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms likely. 0.25" to 0.5" of new rainfall is possible. Highs in the mid-upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Low pressure responsible for all of our rain the last several days will finally begin to break down and track northeast, pulling a cold front along with it into Thursday. Rain exits on Thursday night into early Friday, leaving us much less humid as northwest flow filters in. This will push out clouds and leave us with more sunshine on Friday and into the weekend, with highs in the mid-70s expected Saturday and Sunday. Early next week, we'll settle into a dry and hot pattern as an upper level ridge begins to build across the Midwest, keeping us rain and storm-free, and allow temperatures to soar into the upper 80s by the end of the week.
