Co-founder of Mid-Missouri veterans organization dies

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mary Posner, co-founder and president of Memorial Day Weekend Salute to Veterans Corporation, died on Oct. 26, 2019.

Posner along with more than 3,000 volunteers ran the salute to veterans event in Columbia for the past 33 years. The event was moved to Jefferson City in 2019 while crews worked on the runway at Columbia Regional Airport.

A celebration of life ceremony for Posner will be held next year. Her body was buried in the Columbia Cemetery recently.
