Highway Patrol responds to fatal crash in Pettis County

PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One man is dead after ca crash off of Route U in Pettis County at 1 a.m. Saturday.

Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the crash. Troopers said that the truck overturned multiple times.

This, after veering off the right side of the road and hitting an embankment near Smasal Road. The car eventually came to a stop after hitting a tree.

Richard Talbert, a 26-year-old from Sedalia, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

This is the first deadly crash for Troop F during the Memorial Day weekend counting period.
