Hundreds in Mid-Missouri without power after early morning storms

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 8:17 A.M.: Power outages have been reported across Mid-Missouri a night after storms swept through the area.

Multiple electric cooperatives have reported outages as well. The Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives website said outages were reported in at least four area counties and affected hundreds of customers.

Electric cooperatives in Boone, Howard, Maries, and Camden counties had all reported outages as of Friday morning. In all, more than 250 co-op customers were without power.

According to the cooperative websites, 95 customers were affected in Boone County, 55 customers were affected in Howard County, 95 customers in Camden County had no lights, as well as, 15 customers in Maries County also reported outages.

Ameren Electric brought more than 500 customers back online since early Friday morning. Multiple, small outages were reported in Pilot Grove, Holts Summit and Eldon.

Columbia Water and Light wasn't reporting any outages as of 8 a.m.

ORIGINAL: Nearly 100 utility customers are without power across mid-Missouri Friday morning after overnight storms.

It's unclear if all of the outages are weather-related. According to online data, utility companies are still trying to assess what caused the outages.

At least 92 Ameren customers are without power as of 6 a.m. Friday.

Across Missouri, there are at least 1,237 Ameren customers without power.

According to the City of Columbia's utility outage map, about 20 customers lost power around 4 a.m. Friday. All of the power was restored to those customers shortly after the outage was reported.

According to PowerOutage.Us, nearly 3,000 customers are without power across Missouri.
