Tracking storms amid the warmth

TUESDAY: Temperatures will warm quickly thanks to Southerly winds, and highs will top out in the upper 70s to low 80s. A cold front will drop south this afternoon and could be enough to spark some storms, but latest data this morning is leaning toward us staying dry. If storms get going, they'll have to be monitored for large hail and some gusty winds. These storms would bubble up between 2-8 pm.

TONIGHT: With partly cloudy skies overhead, lows fall into the middle 50's.

EXTENDED: Warm temperatures win out again, with highs for our Wednesday in the lower 80s. Yet again, we'll be tracking another front dropping south, trying to fire some afternoon/evening storms. With an ingredient or two more in play, this severe threat looks a bit more credible. There are still some questions as to if we'll get storms or if they'll be moving around the viewing area, keeping us dry. Large hail and damaging winds would again be the primary threats. With this cold front being stronger than the one we are expecting to move through on Tuesday, we'll see a temperature drop for our Thursday. Highs to close out the week will only be in the 50s.
