Tracking a chilly Sunday night, warming up this week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with lows in the lower 40s overnight.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and slightly warmer with highs in the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: High pressure remains in control for much of this week, and with clear skies we'll be chilly again overnight with light winds allowing temperatures to drop quickly. There may be a few spots with upper 30s by daybreak, especially in low lying areas. There could also be some steam fog along area lakes and rivers with the cool air overnight. A light south breeze will allow temperatures to rise a touch on Monday into the lower 70s, but sunshine continues. Upper high pressure over the Plains will allow temperatures to gradually climb through the week with highs near 80 by the end of the week and very little rainfall in the forecast. We may begin to see some changes with low pressure approaching from the west by next weekend.
