Tracking storms overnight, but a calm and cool week ahead

TONIGHT: After this morning's showers, there's a good chance for redevelopment of storms to our south overnight, mainly along the I-44 corridor. Those to the north should stay dry, as temps begin to fall for the week ahead. Overnight lows in the mid 60s, among cloudy skies.

TOMORROW: Storms begin to become more widespread tomorrow morning, moving north of I-70 towards the early morning hours. Most counties to the west won't see any significant rainfall, but the rest of the viewing area should expect some heavier rain and maybe a few rumbles of thunder. Conditions will clear for the afternoon, but some lingering showers are a possibility throughout the day. Expect a much cooler afternoon with temperatures in the mid 70s, among mostly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: Cooler temperatures and high pressure are the weather story of the week, as things remain calm and comfortable across mid-Missouri. Temperatures throughout the week will remain in the low to mid 70s, with mostly to partly cloudy skies into the weekend. Rain chances after Monday night are virtually nonexistent, but there is a slim chance for some brief raindrops early Tuesday. After that, things are dry and cool. Our next active pattern moves in late Friday, which does increase rain chances for the weekend, particularly Saturday. Expect a slight bump in temperatures as well.
