Mizzou, Nebraska volleyball reschedule suspended Wrigley Field match

LINCOLN, Neb. (KMIZ)

Mizzou volleyball will get its shot at No. 1 Nebraska, after all.

Nine days after the Tigers and the Cornhuskers' historic match at Wrigley Field got suspended due to humidity making the court un-playable, the two teams finally have a new meeting time. On Tuesday, the programs announced that they have rescheduled the game to Wednesday, Sept. 23 at John Cook Arena at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

First serve is set for 6 p.m. in Lincoln, Nebraska, as the match will be televised on BTN.

Although Mizzou and Nebraska halted play with the Huskers holding an 11-7 lead in the first set, this rescheduled match will start back over at 0-0. That decision is based on a mutual agreement between the teams.

Despite the difficulties with the playing surface in Chicago, head coach Dawn Sullivan and her girls got off to a fast start against Nebraska. They'll hope to carry that energy into Sept. 23's match, as the Tigers hunt for the program's first win over a No. 1 squad.

The road trip will mark Mizzou's 38th match played in Lincoln all-time. The Cornhuskers hold the series advantage 74-3-1.
