Tracking the return of summer-like heat

THIS MORNING: Cool and partly cloudy, with temperatures starting out in the upper 60s. Clearing skies will allow conditions to warm quickly into the late morning.

TODAY: Highs climb to the upper 80s to around 90, with enough humidity to push the heat index near 100 degrees. Winds from the southwest will be strong at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph possible.

EXTENDED: Summer-like heat returns this week, with a heat index up to 100 degrees through Thursday. Spotty storms are possible late Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning, but we won't see any relief. A front remains just out of reach to our north through late week, and we could continue to reach the 90s into the weekend.
