What fans need to know for Mizzou vs. Kansas game at David Booth Memorial Stadium

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Fans heading to Lawrence, Kansas, should be aware of traffic impacts and what to expect when entering David Booth Memorial Stadium Friday night, as the University of Missouri Tigers and the University of Kansas Jayhawks meet on the field once again.

The area around Mississippi St. on the KU campus will be under construction with occasional lane closures, and there will be crews in the area to direct traffic. Drivers are encouraged to use caution when going through the area.

Construction for David Booth Memorial Stadium is still underway, and parking may be limited. Workers will be in and around Parking Lot 91. There will be signs in the area for one-way traffic within the southwest portion of the parking lot.

The Missouri Department of Transportation's Improve I-70 project is still underway, so Mizzou fans should be mindful when heading west to Kansas. MoDOT encourages fans to leave early and plan ahead when going to games this season. Drivers are also asked to be prepared for work zone delays and watch for reduced speed limits.

The stadium will have reduced capacity during the 2026 season while under phase two of construction. Sold-out games will have a maximum capacity of 32,000 fans. According to KU Athletics, 40% of seating will be available on the southern and eastern ends of the stadium. Construction on phase two of the stadium will include the completion of the east grandstand of the stadium.

Portions of the stadium will be temporary, such as an industrial stairwell at the south end of the eastern stands for fans to access the concession stands and the restrooms on the ground level.

There is a list of items that fans are not allowed to bring into the stadium; prohibited items include:

• Containers, bottles, cans, liquid containers and coolers
• Outside food, alcohol or video cameras
• Horns, whistles and other noisemakers
• Objects that obstruct another person's view
• Weapons of any type

Only clear bags are allowed in the stadium, or a clutch bag no bigger than 6 x 9 inches. Bottle-filling stations are available, and fans may bring in one 20 oz. unopened plastic bottle of water per ticket holder and one empty, plastic refillable water bottle up to 32 oz.
