A Mid-Missouri sheriff's office ended its contract with a controversial camera system operator this week.

The Pulaski County sheriff said Thursday that his department has canceled its contract with Flock to operate license plate reader cameras. The move came as public concern continues to grow about the cameras' potential for abuse -- a feeling the sheriff acknowledged in his statement.
