Tracking more sunshine after a gloomy start

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly sunny and mild, with highs in the low 80s and a light northerly breeze.

TONIGHT: Clear skies, with cool temperatures settling in the mid-60s. Some fog is possible near bodies of water such as rivers and lakes.

EXTENDED: The week will end on a warm note, with highs climbing to the upper 80s on Friday under sunny skies. A cold front is expected to move through the area late Friday night and Saturday morning, bringing a few showers and a chance for thunder, but we look to dry out quickly by the afternoon. Mostly, the weekend will be sunny and mild, with highs in the mid to low 80s through Sunday. Our next chance of rain arrives late Sunday night, keeping temperatures cooler into early next week.
