No injuries reported after early morning dryer fire in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Fire Department responded to an apartment complex Wednesday morning after a dryer caught fire.

Fire crews were called to the Grindstone Apartments in the 3100 block of Old Highway 63 just after Midnight Wednesday.

Columbia Fire Shift Commander Shawn Noordsy told ABC 17 News that an appliance dryer caught fire and was extinguished within 20 minutes. Residents were evacuated and there were no injuries.

ABC 17 News crews saw four CFD fire trucks and EMS on scene, along with heavy smoke coming from the apartment.
