Tracking extreme heat and limited rain chances

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and muggy, with temperatures in the upper 70s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and extremely hot, with a heat index up to 105 to 110 in the afternoon.

EXTENDED: An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day remains in effect through Wednesday for a heat index above 105 degrees each afternoon. Rain chances will be limited throughout the week, with a few showers possible north of I-70. Our best shot at rain will come late Wednesday and possibly Thursday, but less than a quarter inch of rain is expected. This may cool us off a few degrees, but the heat index will remain near the triple digits through the end of the week.
