Crash leads to lane closure, traffic backup on Highway 63 in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A crash in the driving lane of Highway 63 in Columbia led to a lane closure on Thursday afternoon.

A crash was reported in the southbound lanes of the highway near Discovery Parkway. Boone County Joint Communications shared a notification at 2:44 p.m. stating the driving lane was closed.

The Columbia Fire Department shared an image on its social media at 3:01 p.m. that showed a sedan-sized vehicle crashed into what appeared to be a cement truck.

The crash and closure led to traffic backing up on southbound Highway 63 past Grindstone Parkway. The road reopened around 3:30 p.m.
