Woman seriously hurt in Boone County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 68-year-old Westmoreland, Tennessee, woman was seriously hurt in a crash in Boone County at 8:45 a.m. Monday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the woman was driving south on Highway UU, north of Blue Jay Way, in a 2007 Honda Goldwing when she failed to navigate a curve in the road.

The motorcycle went onto a private drive and overturned. The woman was tossed from the bike during the crash, according to the report.

Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper Luke Benke told ABC 17 News on scene that a dust cloud caused vision issues for the woman as she was approaching the curve.

The woman was taken to University Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

The report states the woman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The motorcycle has extensive damage.
