Tracking flooding tonight, dangerous heat moving in

TONIGHT: Scattered storms through sunset, with more isolated activity overnight. Watch for flooded roads as an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible Friday evening.

TOMORROW: Isolated storms, especially early, with more dry time in the afternoon. Conditions will be hot and humid, with highs in the mid-80s.

EXTENDED: Rain chances come to an end by Sunday as a strong area of high pressure develops to our south, but the threat of extreme heat will quickly follow. A brutal heat wave is expected to affect the entire week, with the heat index between 100 and 105 degrees from Sunday through at least Thursday, if not longer. This pattern may begin to weaken ahead of the fourth, but it will likely remain hot and humid through the holiday.
