Tracking a few storms Thursday, better rain chances on Friday

TONIGHT: Partly to mostly cloudy and mild with lows in the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Partly sunny, warm, and humid with highs in the low to mid-80s. Storms are possible across western and southwest Missouri, including the Lake of the Ozarks.

EXTENDED: The overall upper pattern will remain locked in through early next week, with a few disturbances riding through the region. Showers and a few storms develop along the edge of high pressure tomorrow, with the best chances of rain around the Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake. Heading into Friday, this disturbance moves right overhead, providing enough lift to get scattered showers and a few storms across the region during the day through early evening. We could see pockets of locally heavy rainfall given the higher moisture content in the air, but severe weather isn't expected. We could see a few isolated pop-up storms between Saturday and Sunday, but we'll otherwise be warm, humid, and mostly sunny with highs in the lower to mid-80s. The blocking pattern looks to continue into next week with highs in the mid-80s and limited rain chances.
