Tracking clouds and minimal shower chances through Mother’s Day

TODAY: I'm tracking a mix of clouds and sun throughout the morning hours of Mother's Day as temperatures begin in the low to mid-50s. Clouds will stick around for the afternoon hours as hit-or-miss brief showers continue across the area, but most will stay dry. Temperatures by the afternoon hours will warm into the mid to upper 60s as winds blow out of the north at 5-10 mph, gusting up to 15 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking clear sky conditions making a return during the evening hours as winds continue to blow out of the north at 5-10 mph. Temperatures by the end of the night will cool into the mid to upper 40s because of these conditions.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking sunshine and warmth making a return to start the week as temperatures rebound into the mid-70s by Monday afternoon, getting into the low 80s by Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday evening, a low chance (20%) of showers is in the forecast, but most will stay dry. The trend of warmth and mostly dry conditions continues throughout the rest of the week, staying in the mid to upper 70s on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday and Saturday mark the start of a potentially more summer-like forecast as temperatures warm into the upper 80s and low 90s both days. Minimal shower chances will be spread throughout this warmup.
