Cougars’ coach takes new job at his alma mater

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia College men's basketball coach Tomas Brock is set to depart after securing a new coaching gig.

After seven seasons leading the team, Brock is set to return to his alma mater, Southwest Baptist University. The move will have him jump from NAIA to Division II.

During his time, he helped CC reach three NAIA tournaments, and secured two regular season and tournament AMC titles. He finishes with am overall record of 156-59, and an 87-26 mark in conference play. Brock also coached six All-Americans, and was named AMC Coach of the Year during the 2022-23 campaign.

Before stepping into the head coaching role, he was an associate coach for the Cougars under Bob Burchard, helping the team reach five NAIA national tournaments, and a pair of Round of 16 finishes
