Fire damages apartment in Jefferson City, no injuries reported

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Crews with the Jefferson City Fire Department responded to an apartment building on High Street for a fire Monday evening and said one unit suffered minor damage.

According to a news release from JCFD, the fire was reported shortly after 6:30 p.m. at an apartment building in the 400 block of High Street. Firefighters arrived and found smoke coming from the ground floor.

They found the fire in the bedroom of an apartment, and after putting it out, said the unit had smoke and minor fire damage. The news release said the fire was accidental in nature.

No injuries were reported.
