One displaced after apartment fire in Jefferson City Sunday morning

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was displaced after a fire at an apartment in Jefferson City early Sunday morning, according to a release from the Jefferson City fire department.

The release says crews responded to the 900 block of Southwest Boulevard just after 6 a.m. Crews found smoke in the hallways of a multi-family dwelling and evacuated people who were inside, according to the release. Fire and smoke was contained to a lower-level apartment.

One person was displaced as a result of the fire and is being assisted by the American Red Cross, the release says.

No injuries were reported. The fire was ruled accidental.
