Tracking a warmer start to the week as we begin to thaw out

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with lows in the upper teens to around 20.

TOMORROW: Partly sunny with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.

EXTENDED: Clouds have started to clear a bit with most of the flurries to our east this afternoon into the evening. We won't be as cold as lows fall into the upper teens to around 20 thanks to winds shifting to the southwest. Temperatures will be warmer to start next week as we rise into the low 40s across Mid-Missouri as a southwest breeze continues Monday. Other areas in the region will see cooler temperatures with highs in the mid to upper 30s. A second weather system is expected to approach the region late Monday with a stronger push of cold air. On Tuesday, a separate system is expected to track into the central Plains and Midwest while moisture moves northward from the Gulf. A reinforcing cold front will stall this moisture, likely keeping precipitation chances primarily south of I-44. This system will likely produce a quick round of light snow, though southern areas could see a brief rain and snow mix near the I-44 corridor. Impacts and/or accumulation will be limited. We'll see a cool down behind the front into the low 30s on Wednesday, but upper ridging will bring warmer temperatures into the 40s Thursday on into the weekend.
