Reports: Mizzou football down two offensive tackles due to transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz lost not one, but two offensive tackles in the same day, according to reports from multiple college football insiders.
Just hours after tackle Johnny Williams IV confirmed on his social media that he would be entering the transfer portal, CBS Sports insider Matt Zenitz reported that backup left tackle Jayven Richardson is going to follow suit.
In his second season in Columbia, Richardson worked as the backup for starting left tackle Cayden Green. He got into 10 games this season, including a pair of starts when Green sat out due to a minor foot injury. The 6-foot-6, 313-pound tackle played 197 total snaps in 2025.
He came to Columbia as the No. 4 overall JUCO prospect, coming out of Hutchinson Community College. Now, he will look for a new collegiate home with one year of eligibility remaining.
Richardson is now the 13th player to opt to throw his name into the transfer portal and the fourth since Mizzou's loss in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl over the weekend.
