Tracking a freezing, blustery day

THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny but extremely cold, with afternoon wind chills in the low teens at best. Winds stay strong throughout the day, gusting over 20 mph at times.

TONIGHT: Wind chills remain in the single digits overnight, but most stay above zero. Winds gradually shift from the north to the west and south, and wind speeds will drop to between 10 to 15 mph.

EXTENDED: Blustery conditions will ease on Tuesday, as a milder southerly breeze brings more seasonable temperatures in the upper 30s. We'll hit the 40s on Wednesday for New Year’s Eve, and a dry cold front will mark the start of the new year on Thursday. Temperatures briefly dip into the 30s again on New Year's Day, but will warm back to the low 40s into the weekend. No precipitation is expected this week as rain stays south of us this weekend.
