Tracking gusty winds and bitter wind chills tomorrow

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with lows in the teens. Strong wind gusts drop wind chills to near zero by daybreak.

TOMORROW: Very cold in the morning with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-20s. Wind chills in the teens through the day.

EXTENDED: A strong cold front has exited to the east, leaving us with very strong winds wrapping around low pressure to our northeast. Winds could gust to 30-40 mph overnight with a Wind Advisory in place until 6:00 a.m. Monday. Wind chills look to drop to around -5 to 0 by early Monday morning. Winds ease to around 20-25 mph during the day with highs approaching the mid-20s. Wind chills will be in the teens through the afternoon. Temperatures moderate a bit by Tuesday after a cold start as highs get back into the mid-upper 30s. High pressure builds toward the middle of the week with highs in the upper 30s to mid-40s, but another dry cold front looks to move through on Thursday as temperatures drop into the 30s to kick off the new year. We'll gradually warm with upper winds shifting a bit into the weekend, with moisture looking to stay largely to our south.
