Tracking rain and a few storms returning late Thursday
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cool with lows in the upper 40s. A few spotty showers possible overnight.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with showers and a few storms possible near the Lake of the Ozarks and the I-44 corridor and south. Highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
EXTENDED: We don't cool down much overnight thanks to clouds, but we'll remain in the upper 40s through tomorrow morning. Rain chances will be slim, but we can't rule out a few spotty showers ahead of more widespread storms by evening. The best chance of storms Thursday morning and afternoon will be near and south of the Lake of the Ozarks. Rain becomes more widespread Thursday night and Friday, keeping temperatures in the 50s Friday afternoon. Showers look to exit to the east Friday night, with a total of about 1-1.5" of rain. The weekend is looking dry with highs near or slightly above 60, and clouds returning on Sunday. Sunday night into Monday could bring our next shot at rain, with scattered showers potentially lingering into Tuesday as low pressure exits out of the Southwest region. I'm keeping an eye on the potential for a cooler air mass to dip south in our direction by the middle of the week, whether or not we see any precipitation or impacts remains to be seen.Â
