Mizzou women’s basketball gets back in win column with routing of SIU

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A season-best 30 points from guard Shannon Dowell lifted Mizzou women's basketball to a bounce-back win on Tuesday night, as the Tigers trounced Southern Illinois 81-50.

With the win, the Tigers improved to 4-1 on the season, as the group got back into the win column, following a loss to rival Kansas over the weekend. Tuesday night's win marks the largest margin of victory for Coach Kellie's team this season.

Dowell was joined in the double-digit scoring club by forward Jordana Resima (12), guard Jayla Smith (11) and guard Grace Slaughter (10), as Harper's group enjoyed one of its better shooting nights of the year. The Tigers shot at a 55 percent clip from the field and 47 percent from 3-point range.

Up next - the Mizzou women will host Troy at the Arena on Thursday, Nov. 20. Tip off is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
