Jefferson City Renegades joining brand-new Diamond Baseball League

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City Renegades are taking their talents to a brand-new baseball league.

The Diamond Baseball League (DBL) has announced it has purchased the franchise from the MINK League ahead of its inaugural season in 2026.

The DBL is a professional-grade collegiate summer baseball league, which will feature six teams that are located in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. Its mission is to give minor league baseball experience to its players, coaches, fans and sponsors while benefitting its participating communities.

Jefferson City is the third team to be revealed, joining franchises from Grand Islands and Hastings, Nebraska. The remaining three teams will be named over the next few weeks.

Starting on May 28, the first-year league will play a 50-game schedule, followed by playoffs.

The Renegades previously played in the MINK League for the last eight seasons, winning a league championship in 2023. Jefferson City registered a 19-19 record in its most recent campaign.
