Mizzou’s Mark Mitchell earns preseason All-SEC honors
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
With Mizzou basketball set to get underway in the coming days, the team is already making headlines across the SEC.
Senior Mark Mitchell was named to the Preseason All-Conference Second-Team. Along with the forward's individual recognition, the Tigers were picked to finish seventh in the preliminary standings predictions by the league media.
Mitchell earned All-SEC honors from the coaches and media at the end of last season, after leading the team in points (13.9), while finishing second in rebounds (4.7) and third in assists (1.9).
As a team, Mizzou's seventh-place prediction is the highest in the past eight years. Florida is projected to win the conference, followed by Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama. Arkansas and Auburn were ranked just above the Tigers at fifth and sixth.
