COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou men's basketball coach Dennis Gates is assembling one of the best 2026 recruiting class in the nation, as he picked up his third commitment on Sunday night.

Four-star forward Aidan Chronister is the latest prospect to announce his commitment to the Tigers, 809 days after Coach Gates first offered him. He picked MU over offers from Wake Forest, Arkansas, St. Louis, Oklahoma State and others. He joins five-star guard Jason Crowe Jr. and five-star power forward Toni Bryant in Coach Gates' class, which now ranks No. 1 in the nation, according to 247Sports.

The Fayetteville, Arkansas native is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 71 prospect in the nation and No. 28 at his position.

The 6-foot-7, 180 pound forward takes a high percentage of shots from beyond-the-arc. During the recent NXTPRO circuit, he averaged 11.6 points per game, nailing 36 percent of his 3-pointers. Chronister also averaged 1.2 steals and 1.3 blocks per game for the AAO Flight.
