Tracking a cool morning followed by a few showers for some Wednesday evening

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with lows in the lower 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny with increasing clouds by late afternoon. A few showers possible south of Highway 50 by evening. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

EXTENDED: Tomorrow will be cool to start off with morning temperatures in the lower 50s, but clouds begin to spread in throughout the day ahead of a low pressure system that will skirt across southern and southwest Missouri before drifting south on Thursday. We could see some showers as far north as Highway 50 tomorrow night, with clouds lingering into the first part of Thursday. Clouds will keep temperatures in the upper 50s Thursday morning, but late day sun could warm us back into the upper 70s. Overall, it looks fantastic for tailgating on Thursday for the Mizzou football game and comfortable in the evening after kickoff. We'll end the week with highs in the low 80s on Friday, and a stunning Labor Day weekend with lows in the upper 50s at night and highs near 80 during the day. We'll remain in this northwest upper flow pattern through the middle of next week before we start to see any shifts, with very little rain after Thursday morning until maybe late next week.
