Tracking continued heat before gradual mid-week relief

TONIGHT: I'm tracking isolated storms dissipating after sundown, leading to a dry rest of the night. Winds will blow out of the south at 5-10 mph as temperatures drop into the mid 70s by the end of the night.

TOMORROW: I'm tracking another hot afternoon as temperatures feel like they are 100-105 degrees area-wide as winds blow out of the south at 5-10 mph. This is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day will be in effect for Monday. To read more about this event, visit our blog: https://abc17news.com/weather/2025/08/12/weather-alert-day-dangerous-heat-returns-this-weekend/. More isolated storms will be possible throughout the majority of the day before sundown.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking another hot afternoon Tuesday as heat index values near 100 degrees, but relief arrives in the form a cold front bringing shower/storm chances along with it. These chances will last throughout Wednesday morning, and cooler temperatures will follow by Wednesday afternoon. From Wednesday on, temperatures will be in the mid 80s each afternoon with sunshine persisting throughout the rest of the forecast period.
