Two motorcyclists seriously hurt after hitting deer in Boone, Cole counties

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two motorcyclists were hurt Friday morning when they hit a deer, one each in Boone and Cole counties.

A person who crashed in the 4800 block of Route M in Cole County as flown to University Hospital at about 5:30 a.m. Friday, said Cole County EMS chief Eric Hoy. The motorcyclist had moderate injuries.

A 37-year-old Centralia man was seriously hurt after he hit a deer while riding his motorcycle Friday morning, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The report states that the man was driving a 2005 Yamaha  XVS 650 westbound on E. MO-124, just west of Schooler Road, when he hit a deer.

The man was taken to the University Hospital by Boone County EMS with serious injuries. The report states the man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
