Tracking dangerous heat into the weekend

TODAY: Temperatures will be comfortable (ish) for most of today, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Dewpoints remain tolerable, causing heat indexes to only reach the lower 90s. Lots of sunshine today will cause UV index values to spike at a level of 9.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will make for a pleasant night, only dipping to the mid 60s with a chance for some early morning fog tomorrow.

EXTENDED: Thursday might be our last chance for a while with temperatures in the 80s. After that, a warm front lifts up through our region on Friday which will inevitably increase our temperatures. The most notable change though will be in the increase in dewpoint temperatures, which will add to the heat index values. Those are expect to reach 105 by Saturday and Sunday, which is why we've issued an ABC17 Weather Alert Day.
