Tracking scattered storms with heat and humidity lingering
TODAY: Scattered showers are possible in the early morning, with a break during the afternoon as temperatures rise into the upper 80s. Storms may redevelop again in the evening and early overnight, bringing a risk of isolated damaging winds and localized flooding.
TOMORROW: Storms will again be possible early Monday morning, but much of the day looks dry and just as hot with highs in the 80s and the heat index in the 90s in places that dodge the rain. Another round of storms may develop in the evening and overnight.
EXTENDED: On-and-off storm chances continue through midweek, with the most persistent rainfall in western and northern Missouri, where localized flooding is possible. These daily rain chances will help temperatures stay in the mid-80s, but as these chances dwindle late week, the heat moves back in as highs return to the 90s next weekend.
