Tracking showers and storms providing a break from the heat

TONIGHT: I'm tracking isolated storms near I-70 becoming possible around 6-8 pm with a more widespread storm system slowly entering northern Missouri throughout the overnight hours. Both of these storm chances have the potential to produce strong winds. Temperatures will drop into the mid 70s by the end of the night as winds blow out of the southeast at 8-12 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

TOMORROW: I'm tracking the more widespread storm system entering central Missouri by 7-10 am. This is expected to fall apart throughout the later morning hours, providing a brief break in activity as temperatures climb into the upper 80s by the afternoon hours. Winds will be out of the southeast at 8-12 mph with gusts up to 20 mph before storm chances once again return in the evening.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking daily storm chances continuing into the start of next week, with the most persistent rainfall in western and northern Missouri. This will lead to potential flooding issues before a break in rain chances arrives after Wednesday. These daily rain chances will help temperatures stay in the mid 80s, but as these chances fall, the heat will make another return for the end of next week.
