COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou center Connor Tollison is drawing national attention for a prestigious honor.

The Jackson High School alum is one of the 40 players currently in contention for the 2025 Rimington Trophy, which recognizes the most outstanding center in college football.

Tollison's name is also listed on the 2025 Wuerffel Trophy watch list, which honors the college football player who best combines community service with excellence in academics and athletics.

Despite suffering a season-ending knee injury last year, the senior still made a significant impact on the offensive line's success. He helped block for an offense that was seventh-best in the nation in time of possession (32:54), fourth-best in the SEC in tackles for loss allowed per game (4.62) and seventh-best in the conference in sacks allowed per game (2.00) last season. Mizzou's offense also registered 2,138 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns on the ground behind its offensive line during the 2024 campaign.

MU is currently tackling fall camp in preparation for its season opener on Thursday, Aug. 28 against Central Arkansas at Faurot Field.
