Tracking exiting showers and high heat returning Tuesday

TODAY: Scattered showers and storms continue to push through the region throughout the afternoon hours. This aids in a slight cool down across the area providing some relief from the dangerous heat. Highs remain into the upper 80s and lower 90s.

TONIGHT: Lows fall into the mid-70s leaving it tough to cool of spaces with no air conditioning. Dew points in the 70s leave it humid as well. Skies remain clear.

EXTENDED: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies are forecast Tuesday and Wednesday. Heat indices in the 105-110 range will be possible Tuesday through Friday, but rain chances return by Friday and Saturday as our upper level pattern breaks down slightly. This may be just enough for a couple disturbances to bring rain late in the week. This likely won't be the end of the hot pattern, though. Heat looks to continue into the weekend.
