Tracking our last few rain chances before heat takes over
TONIGHT: We hold on to our more tolerable temperatures as we head into this evening. Lows dipping only to about the mid to lower 70s tonight. Storm chances look to stay farther north of our area, but we can't rule out a pop up shower here and there.
TOMORROW: The pop up trend continues into our Saturday, but so does the heat. Temperatures peaking at about 92 degrees tomorrow. Our Weather Alert Day begins tomorrow, as well as an extreme heat warning going into effect by noon.
EXTENDED: Those storm chances throughout our weekend are actually what keep temperatures and heat index a little cooler, but once those move out of our area then we're looking at some dangerous degrees. Winds from the south help to supply us with plenty of moisture, which hikes up our humidity. Plenty of sunshine into the work week will also help to warm us up. Our nights look to remain warm as well, with nightly lows hitting the mid 70s, cloudier nights will also add to this warmth because clouds act like a blanket, trapping the heat in overnight. These heat index values will break the 100s, so it's imperative to remain hydrated, take breaks, and spend little time in the rigorous heat if possible.
