Tracking afternoon isolated storms with dangerous weekend heat
TODAY: Thursday brings scattered showers and storms through the afternoon. We'll have cooler high temperatures as a result, with highs in the low 80s. Some in the south will have a warmer day than many in the north. Highs may still reach 90s near the Lake of the Ozarks and Rolla. Feels like temperatures in the most extreme cases may reach upper 90s to near 100 again in the south.
TONIGHT: We should have dry weather at the Boone County fair as rain chances will fall for most as rain pushes southeast tonight. The cold front will begin to lift back north overnight. This could bring rain chances by Friday morning. Temperatures remain near 70 overnight.
EXTENDED: Isolated to scattered rain chances return Friday, especially in the afternoon. We'll likely be warmer than Thursday, with highs forecast in the mid-80s on Friday. The mild temperatures are mostly brought on by rain and clouds. As the warm front lifts north, we'll see more sunshine over the weekend. This puts temperatures back in the 90s and heat indices in the 100s, possibly reaching 105. ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days are in place for Saturday through next week, as daily heat indices are expected to reach 105+ several days next week.
