Tracking another foggy morning followed by increasing heat and humidity, storm chances

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with patchy fog developing again by morning. Lows near 70 degrees by daybreak.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and hot with highs in the mid-upper 80s and a heat index in the low 90s. A few spotty storms possible by late afternoon.

EXTENDED: Wednesday will be the hottest day of the work week as a front lifts to the north and upper high pressure builds to our southeast. That will allow humid air to settle in and temperatures to warm into the low 90s, sending the heat index to between 100-102. Thursday into Friday, a cold front to our north will try to sink back south, triggering a chance for showers and storms. Areas that remain dry see highs in the upper 80s with a heat index between 93-95 Thursday and Friday. With the front lifting well to our north over the weekend, the heat index jumps to the low triple digits again, and rain chances appear low. Any storms that develop over the course of the week could produce heavy rainfall, but severe weather isn't very likely.
