Mizzou football coach Eli Drinkwitz continued to prioritize offense in his 2026 recruiting class, on Monday, as three-star running back Maxwell Warner announced his commitment to the Tigers on Chicago's ABC 7 News.

Warner is the fifth commitment in Coach Drink's 2026 group, four of which come on the offensive side of the football. You can find a full list of Drinkwitz's commitments below.

  • Four-star quarterback Gavin Sidwar
  • Four-star wide receiver Jabari Brady
  • Four-star linebacker Keenan Harris
  • Three-star tight end Isaac Jensen
  • Three-star running back Maxwell Warner

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back will come to Columbia from Whitney Young High School in Chicago, which also happens to be the alma mater of Tiger men's basketball coach Dennis Gates. Warner just helped lead the Dolphins to a run in the Class 7A playoffs in his junior campaign, where he registered 518 yards and eight touchdowns on 107 carries.

He is regarded as the top running back in the state of Illinois and the No. 53 running back prospect in the nation, according to 247sports.

Following the Chicago-native's commitment, Coach Drinkwitz's recruiting class is now ranked No. 66 in the country and No. 16 in the SEC, according to On3.
