Tracking continued heat and humidity with a few storms Tuesday

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and mild with lows in the mid-70s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny, hot, and humid with highs in the lower 90s. Heat index between 96-100. A few storms possible by mid-late afternoon.

EXTENDED: Stifling heat continues with the heat advisory continuing along and north of I-70 into tomorrow. We remain in this stagnant pattern for most of the week, with the top of the upper level high pressure just to our north across Iowa. That's where the best storm chances will be over the next couple of days, but we could see some afternoon pop-ups tomorrow and Wednesday, and then the pattern tries to start breaking down by late week into the weekend. This could give us better chances of showers and storms, and slightly cooler temperatures by the weekend.
