Tracking rain exiting this afternoon, severe storms possible this weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Temperatures remain warm in the 70s with added mugginess. Rain slowly tracks east by the evening, making way for a drier dinner hour.

TONIGHT: Skies clear out overnight as temperatures drop to the 70s.

EXTENDED: Saturday is an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day for possible severe storms in the afternoon and early evening. A batch of showers in the morning will likely remain sub-severe, and a midday break will allow temperatures to recover to the 80s ahead of storms on Saturday afternoon. Sunday is also a Weather Alert Day for another chance of severe thunderstorms as a cold front sweeps in from the north. Damaging winds and large hail will be the most concerning threats, and an isolated weak tornado cannot be ruled out.
