Tracking potential severe storms this evening

TODAY: Scattered showers and storms remain possible throughout the early afternoon hours with heavy downpours and lightning being the main threats. Highs climb into the lower 80s. Chances of strong to severe storms begin around 4 pm lasting through midnight. Winds up to 60+ mph, hail up to 1"+, and potential for flooding remains the primary threats.

TONIGHT: The severe threat wanes after midnight with flooding becoming the primary threat. Lows cool to the mid-60s.

EXTENDED: Showers and storms begin to push east close to lunch time with drier conditions throughout much of the afternoon hours. Thursday and Friday welcome more chances of scattered showers and storms with little to no severe risk expected. highs remain near 80 going into the weekend after a cooler Wednesday into the mid to lower 70s. isolated shower chances remain possible but limited into the weekend.
